you there's been a lot written particularly the EPS in recent years on that on a question not unlike that you know Christ shaped philosophy how do how does philosophy really help theology the Christian worldview and so forth and I'm uh you know I I guess I'm of the persuasion that we need a Christ shaped philosophy Allah Paul Moser but we also need an eschatological shaped philosophy one that recognizes there's an already not yet scenario and there's a lot of things that we can pursue in philosophy now that we can't do long as we're pursuing the truth long as we're going after with good motives and so forth that down the road might help us in doing Kingdom work and a lot of the work of philosophers isn't always exactly obvious how it's going to be of service to the kingdom but it becomes obvious or perhaps becomes of service over time and so and so I think philosophy can help with giving us filling in the blanks you know like connecting the dots and theology and the word has to be interpreted and it doesn't give us a complete world do we have to do some of the work of making those connections and philosophy can help us with that it gives us a variety of approaches that you know from existentialism to analytic philosophy to the history of ideas that might be more germane to continental philosophy it gives us new ways of approaching the material new methods for thinking theologically about the world that can be helpful as well people are unique our circumstances are complex and if and if God's kingdom work is actually going to touch all these areas than philosophers can help us reach out to different people in different circumstances with new means and methods I think that can that can really be of service to God's kingdom work
