Privacy
Privacy
The short version: this site does not collect anything about you.
What this site is
A static website. There are no accounts, no logins, and no database of visitors. Pages are plain files served as they are.
Forms
The contact and speaking forms do not send anything to a server. When you press Send, your own email app opens with the message filled in, and you decide whether to send it. Nothing you type is stored here.
Newsletter
Signups for The Marginalia are handled by email for now. Until a mailing-list provider is connected, subscribing opens an email to thefirestonefiles@gmail.com and your address is kept only on that list. Unsubscribe by replying to any letter.
Videos
Episodes are embedded from YouTube using the youtube-nocookie.com player, and the player loads only after you press play. Until then the page shows a still image served from this site or from YouTube's image servers. Once a video is playing, YouTube's own privacy policy applies.
Fonts
The typefaces are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests font files from Google's servers when a page loads. Google's privacy policy covers those requests.
Analytics and cookies
No analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts run on this site unless this page says so. The only thing stored in your browser is your light-or-dark theme choice, if you make one.
Links
Links to podcast platforms, bookshops, and social networks take you to sites with their own policies.
